I really loved this. When this was out in limited release in the spring I read a review saying that it was really a story about a girl-mance, and I was kind of skeptical, but it’s completely true. This is probably the best and most accurate representation of a female friendship. It’s not always about guys, it’s always about you, and that comes through with painful honesty. I loved Frances and found her also painfully, but beautifully relatable. Beautiful writing from Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach and wonderfully balanced direction from Baumbach. It’s like a slightly less jazzy Woody Allen film and I really loved it’s honesty.
